Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Leaks Benchmarked with Exynos 2400

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Leaks Benchmarked with Exynos 2400

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Flexes Exynos Muscle in Leaked Benchmarks

The affordable flagship contender, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, is inching closer to launch as evidenced by recent benchmark leaks. Spotted on Geekbench, the S24 FE confirms earlier rumors about its processor and sheds some light on its potential performance.

Exynos 2400 Takes the Helm

The leaked benchmark listing reveals the S24 FE will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 2400 chipset. This isn't a surprise considering the standard S24 and S24+ variants outside the US also sported the same processor. The Exynos 2400 boasts a 10-core CPU configuration, with a prime Cortex-X4 core clocked at a (slightly downclocked) 3.1 GHz, flanked by two clusters of Cortex-A720 cores and a cluster of power-efficient Cortex-A520 cores.

While the benchmark doesn't detail the GPU, leaks suggest the S24 FE will retain the Xclipse 940 GPU present in the S24 and S24+. This combination hints at solid performance for everyday tasks and even demanding games.

Benchmark Scores and What They Mean

The leaked Geekbench 6 scores show the S24 FE achieving a single-core score of 2,047 and a multi-core score of 6,289. While the single-core score is comparable to the standard S24 variants with the Exynos 2400, the multi-core score falls slightly behind. This could be attributed to the downclocked prime core in the S24 FE variant.

It's important to note that benchmark scores are not the sole indicator of real-world performance. Optimizations and software play a crucial role, and Samsung has a history of tweaking chipsets for better performance in its own devices.

Other Expected Specs and Features

While the benchmark leak focuses on the processor, rumors suggest the S24 FE might retain the well-regarded 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN3 sensor from the S23 FE. This sensor is known for capturing excellent details and low-light performance.

Storage options are still under speculation, but it's safe to expect at least 128GB of base storage with higher options likely available. RAM might stay at 8GB, which is the current standard for most high-end and upper mid-range phones.

The S24 FE is also expected to run the latest Android 14 out of the box, benefiting from Google's latest features and security updates.

Affordable Flagship Alternative?

The Galaxy S24 FE series has carved a niche for itself as a compelling alternative to flagship phones. By offering flagship-like features at a more accessible price point, the S24 FE caters to users who prioritize performance without wanting to break the bank.

The leaked benchmarks solidify the Exynos 2400 as the driving force behind the S24 FE. While the multi-core score might raise a slight eyebrow, real-world performance heavily depends on software optimization. Paired with a capable camera and the latest Android version, the S24 FE is shaping up to be a serious contender in the affordable flagship segment.

Launch and Availability

With benchmark leaks surfacing, the S24 FE's launch seems imminent. Samsung is yet to officially announce a release date, but rumors suggest a possible summer launch window. Specific regional availability details are also unclear at this point.

While the leaks provide valuable insights, it's always best to wait for the official announcement to get the complete picture. The S24 FE's pricing will be a critical factor in determining its success. If Samsung manages to strike the right balance between affordability and performance, the S24 FE could be a hot seller.
